BOILER FIRE SIDE CHEMICALS: The primary function of a boiler is to transfer heat from hot gases generated by the combustion of fuel into water until it becomes hot or turns to steam. The steam or hot water can then be used in building or facility processes. Except for a small number of specialty models, boilers generally fit into one of the two common categories: fire-tube boilers and water-tube boilers. Fire-tube boilers pass hot combustion gases through tubes submerged in water. Water-tube boilers, on the other hand, circulate water inside the tubes in a closed vessel filled with hot combustions gases. In either category the boiler feed water and fuel often contain impurities, which impairs boiler operation and efficiency. Chemical additives can be used to correct the problems caused by these impurities. To improve feed water quality, fuel oil condition, and steam purity, these chemicals can be injected directly into the feed water, steam or fuel oil. This fact sheet discusses the potential problems associated with the impurities in the feed water and fuel and the chemical treatment programs available. Chemical Treatment for Fireside Boiler Tubes: A complete boiler efficiency program must concentrate not only on water quality but also on efficient and complete combustion of fuels. Fuels commonly used to create heat in boilers are nuclear fusion, electricity, the wastes of certain processes, natural gas, coal, wood and fuel oils. This section only discusses the problems associated with fuel oils. Commonly used fuel oil includes Nos. 2, 4, 5 and No. 6 oil. Fuel oils are complex combinations of chemical compoundsâmainly saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons. Both physical and chemical properties of fuels, such as flash point, viscosity and sulfur content, are important factors in determining the quality of fuels and the impact on boiler operation. Aqua blend AD The Fuel Oil Conditioner The residue fuel oils namely furnace oil, LSHS, LDO produced by our refineries primarily contain heavy residue namely asphaltenes ,poly aromatics and waxes blended with low viscosity hydrocarbons. These oils are high in conardson carbon which creates problem during combustion of the oil resulting into soot formation. Moreover fuel suffers from stratification that is sludge formation during storage in the tanks.
Fueline - X (Stick & Bottle) - To Burn Carbon FUELINE-X is designed for the fireside cleaning of deposits in the combustion equipments. Sooting, clinker & other combustion deposits are common fireside occurrences in boiler and thermic fluid heater installations. Such deposits have to be cleaned manually by brushing. But unfortunately the cleaning is almost never perfect and cannot reach certain sections of the heating surface that have poor accessibility. The stickiness of the unburn carbon results in build up of incombustibles solids on the heat transfer area. The carbon acts as the thermal barrier reducing heat transfer & efficiency of the boiler. The effect of the reduced heat transfer is usually reflected in loss of efficiency as higher stack temperature is observed.
